About Bill Murphy
Born and raised in Worcester, Bill Murphy has been in the mortgage business for more than ten years. A Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist™, Bill continues to attend workshops and seminars on the mortgage industry to stay abreast of new trends and products.
He moved into the Kelley Square office as Branch Manager and Mortgage Planner for Prime Mortgage Financial, Inc. in June 2005. In November 2007, he opened up his own mortgage office called Fairway New England Mortgage.
Bill is a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce, an Affiliate Member of the Worcester Board of Realtors and an annual sponsor of the Worcester Regional Association of Realtors. He is also a member of Business Networking International (BNI).
Committed to maintaining the integrity of his profession, Bill helped devise the ethical guidelines for affiliates of the Worcester Board of Realtors. He was recently named chair of the affiliate members of the Worcester Regional Association of Realtors and is a member of the Loan Officer Task Force for the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association, which is reviewing educational initiatives to prepare brokers for a future state licensing process.
He was honored as one of Worcester Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” in September 2006 for his commitment to the community where he lives and works.
A graduate of Worcester State College, Bill received his master’s degree in counseling psychology from Framingham State College.
He recently received the The Young Distinguished Alumus Award from Worcester State in May 2007. In July 2007, he was awarded the Affiliate of The Year for the Worcester Association of Realtors and served as Chair that same year. In 2008, he received the award for "The Most Prestigous Award "Givers Give" in the state of Massachusetts.
Bill believes in giving back. He sponsors the Make-A-Wish foundation where he gives $50 per closed loan in each client's name. At the end of each year, all the donations collected are used to grant a wish for a terminally-ill child in Massachusetts. He supports the Dana Farber organization. This year he is part of the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team. He has pledged to raise $7000 in donations to this organization's research team.
Bill is a sports enthusiast and plays football in the Worcester Parks league. He coaches youth baseball and football teams and is on the Board of Directors for the Charlton Little League. He lives in Charlton with his wife and three young children.
